df(1) - Linux manual page http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man1/df.1.html

  1. report file system disk space usage
  1. This manual page documents the GNU version of df. df displays the
  2. amount of disk space available on the file system containing each
  3. file name argument. If no file name is given, the space available on
  4. all currently mounted file systems is shown. Disk space is shown in
  5. 1K blocks by default, unless the environment variable POSIXLY_CORRECT
  6. is set, in which case 512-byte blocks are used.
  7.
  8. If an argument is the absolute file name of a disk device node
  9. containing a mounted file system, df shows the space available on
  10. that file system rather than on the file system containing the device
  11. node. This version of df cannot show the space available on
  12. unmounted file systems, because on most kinds of systems doing so
  13. requires very nonportable intimate knowledge of file system
  14. structures.
  15.

lsblk(8) - Linux manual page http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man8/lsblk.8.html

  1. list block devices
  1. lsblk lists information about all available or the specified block
  2. devices. The lsblk command reads the sysfs filesystem and udev db to
  3. gather information. If the udev db is not available or lsblk is
  4. compiled without udev support than it tries to read LABELs, UUIDs and
  5. filesystem types from the block device. In this case root permissions
  6. are necessary.
  7.
  8. The command prints all block devices (except RAM disks) in a tree-
  9. like format by default. Use lsblk --help to get a list of all
  10. available columns.
  11.
  12. The default output, as well as the default output from options like
  13. --fs and --topology, is subject to change. So whenever possible, you
  14. should avoid using default outputs in your scripts. Always
  15. explicitly define expected columns by using --output columns-list in
  16. environments where a stable output is required.
  17.
  18. Note that lsblk might be executed in time when udev does not have all
  19. information about recently added or modified devices yet. In this
  20. case it is recommended to use udevadm settle before lsblk to
  21. synchronize with udev.
