DB Query Analyzer is presented by Master Genfeng, Ma from Chinese Mainland. It has English version named ‘DB Query Analyzer’ and Simplified Chinese version named  .

DB Query Analyzer is one of the few excellent Client Tools in the world for its’powerful function, friendly interface, easy operation and applicability to every production of RDBMS.

It lets you query ODBC data sources, author SQL scripts and queries, return query results to a grid or free-form text or a file, retrieve ODBC driver information, execute multiple SQL scripts or stored procedures simultaneously, and more.

2   Preface

DB Query Analyzer has a useful function to select a row in grid filled with query record set returned by RDBMS.            

I will showyou how to select a row in DB Query Analyzer 5.04.

OS :  Windows 2000 server

Database system : Sybase

Client tool : DB Query Analyzer 5.04.

3   Connect to ODBCDSN based on Sybase 

Run DB Query Analyzer 5.04 first, then click ‘File’ menu tochoose ‘Connect’ to open the logging window. SelectODBC Data Source ‘EAS Demo DB V4’,input user name and password then connect to the database.

This is shown in Figure 1.

4   Generate SQLstatement by pop menu

After Connect to ODBC Data Source ‘EAS Demo DB V4’,expand the ‘EAS Demo DB V4’ in‘Object View’, then expand ‘User Tables’ and find ‘DBA.tb_employee’. Right click this node and select ‘Select top ...(P)’ and SQL statement is designed automic as figure 3.

5   Execute SQL andselect a row

Execute SQLstatement first, you can get the record set returned by DBMS.

Click worksheet ‘Result1’, left click the rownumber you want to select. This is shown in Figure 4.
